Cupcake Madness

So now that the madness of the past week is finally done I can sit here and tell you all about it!

My week started off really well. I had 5 orders for this weekend, 3 Easter, 1 Birthday and 1 batch of Minions. I was pushing ahead to get all the Gum Paste work done for the cupcakes, I was getting everything ready and things were going really smoothly.

Thursday evening comes along, and it's Harlem Globetrotter night (which I got for my sister for her Birthday/Christmas gift) and I was checking everything and it was looking great. It was drying perfectly, the edible paint looked smooth, it was really great!

So Friday morning I get up and start baking my million and one cupcakes and end up getting them all done by noon! Awesome! Such a relief! So let the decorating begin!

I started off with my Minion order, since it was to be delivered Friday evening. They really weren't looking so great as I started, but they were coming together little bit by little bit! I still thought I could have done so much better, but my mom kept telling me I was being to hard on myself and that I was doing a fantastic job. In the end I think they did turn out pretty awesome...they aren't any Pinterest miracle or anything, but they still look good.

Then when I got home I started working on my big Easter order. 30 cupcakes. Some religious, the rest just have fun with, which also lead into my other big Easter order. I got everything done on the religious ones. The Gum Paste crosses standing up on them and everything! (Here's the frustrating part. I finished the order and moved them all into another room, so they were all together ready for delivery the next day. I walked into that room at the end of the night and all of the gum paste crosses had broken and fallen apart on me. So I was up very late getting them all fixed. Then the next day about 2 hours before delivery the same thing happened!!! Ugh! So I popped them into the oven (just the gum paste) and dried them out the best I could. I haven't heard how they made it through last night though.)

Then today I finished up by doing the Birthday order and Easter too. So for the birthday one I was asked to do Sid from Ice Age. I've never done anything like this before, so I was a little nervous about it and began looking up simple little designs for him and just seeing what I could come up with. I personally don't think they turned out the best, but I did my best and that's what counts. I hope she likes them when I deliver them tomorrow!

And last but not least I threw a cake together for us for our Easter dinner tonight, but as I was making it my sister ended up being quite sick :( So it is being left for dessert for tomorrow evening when my Godmother comes over. It'll be a nice break for her while she's doing taxes! haha

That wraps it up for my weekend and I do have to say I am thankful it's over, but I'd do it again any day!

Goodnight Gracie <3

Police Birthday

Over the weekend my roommate from college decided to come down for a visit for her birthday, which is actually tomorrow (Happy Birthday Jelly Bean!). Her nickname is Jelly Bean and she studied to become a Police Officer.

I had to come up with a little something that had both and since it's so close to Easter, jellybeans are easy to come by!

Here is what I came up with for her.

It didn't turn out 100% how I wanted it to, but it was still quite yummy!

Petite Fours

I'm a little behind from the last little bit, and I am crazy busy this week to, so these posts will be short and sweet.

Last week for dessert/ my cake of the week I made shaped Petite Fours. I iced the inside with Chocolate Icing, drizzled Caramel sauce over it, then sprinkled them with Icing Sugar!

They turned out great! For my first time making Petite Fours I was impressed at how well I had done!

Without further ado here they are
