So to keep up with everything, here are the Fairy cupcakes I made for the little girl celebrating her 6th birthday a couple weeks ago! I was also asked to make a cake for her with purple and yellow.
So here they are! I am super happy with them!

Almond Buttercups
As promised I am going to get updated!
I mentioned in a a previous post about the bachelorette party I was a part of and that the bride and 2 others were/are gluten free. So I had to get creative...I racked my brain, which yes can be hard some days (that was thrown in there for a few people who like to make fun of me when I say "I think"). As I was thinking I was sitting in front of my 2 cake towers (I have two 6-drawer towers worth of cake decorating stuff, candy melt stuff and so on) and I started going through my candy mold. PERFECT! I have a heart-shaped cup and I have red candy melts! - So what can I add in that's Gluten Free?
Of course! Almond Butter! It's delicious on it's own anyways, so why not give it a shot?!
I was so surprised at first! I tried putting a cover of chocolate over top to make it a full cup like a Reese's cup, but it wouldn't work! If anyone has used Almond Butter they know why - but for those of you who haven't - it's an incredibly oily butter, it's a lot more liquid-y than regular PB! So LIGHTBULB, let's freeze it!
It looked so great I didn't even want to cover it! So I put a dollop of icing on there and a little bit of shaved chocolate.
I have to say one of the best things I've ever made! I clearly didn't make enough either! I had one for each of us, I served them frozen too, and I wish I had made more! They all wanted more! Needless to say I will definitely be making them again for Gluten Free friends - and of course a "healthier" treat for myself!

Cards, Cards, Cards
Alright, so now that this month has finally slowed down I am going to post everything!
I mentioned before that I had been busy making a ton of cards...Well I'm finally going to show them to you!
Some of these cards took a lot longer than others, but they all look equally as beautiful. I am always very happy with the work that I do, even though some days I get incredibly frustrated because I over judge what I am doing. They say we are all perfectionists when it comes to our own work and I have to say it's very true for me. I'm always criticizing my work too much, until I leave it a couple hours and actually look at it and realize that, hey you know what, it wasn't too shabby after all.
Anyways the first card that I did was for a young lady that works with me. She's a special little lady whom always brightens my day. She's developmentally challenged, but she always has a smile on her face and loves to have fun!
The next card I did was for another lady I worked with. She was planning on moving back to Germany, but not quite as soon as this, but she ended up getting offered a job which made her choice. We'll miss her tons, but it's what she wanted to do and I wish her all the happiness there can be!
This next one is also for another lady I work with. Dear Donna! She loves her gardening so I just had to make sure the card was all about gardening, especially since it's that time to get gardening (at least it was when it was her birthday).
Now this next one I had a lady from work approach me for. A family friend was celebrating her Quinceanera, which is basically her Sweet 16, but for 15 years of age with some cultures. I had to do some research for this card, but I apparently nailed it! I just love the look of it!
A Special little Lady I know was celebrating her 6th Birthday this month too! I ended up doing a Cake, Cupcakes and Cards for her. Her birthday party theme was Fairies, so everything was all butterflies and fairies. I love the colours, nice and bright!

Bachelorette Cake
Hey all,
So this past little bit has been uber busy for me! I've been making cards non-stop, cakes and cupcakes too, and other baking, as well finishing up my last cake decorating course, gardening, working full-time, and getting other things done around the house. I don't know how I've had time for sleeping!
I have made a few apple crumbles - which turned out fantastic! I've had a request to make it again soon! haha
I experimented with making a Lemon Crumble Pie - Dad didn't care for it at all, he stuck his nose up through every bite. Mom was iffy on it - she thought the cinnamon in the crumble made the lemon extremely bitter. And of course, my sister - well she eats anything and she just loved it. I thought it was pretty good myself too.
I've also made healthy Energy Bites for myself for my breakfasts - oh boy were these bad boys tasty! I'll post the recipe soon!
I'll post the cards in another post just so things don't get cluttered.
So this past weekend was one of my friends' Bachelorette Party. We did our dress fittings for our bridesmaid dresses - which look fantastic. Then we played some Lazer Quest and went back to her sister's for a "spa night". Needless to say I was looking after the sweets - which was a little difficult because 3 out of 5 are Gluten Free! Yikes! I've never done gluten free - and I didn't hear how the cake went over because I had to leave before they were able to dig in. I'll find out though!
They are more classy people - no dirty things that you would normally find at a bachelorette party that's for sure! So I made everything super classy too.
I did some of those Big Lip Chocolates and some little wedding ones too, some Almond Buttercups - which I didn't make nearly enough of - and the cake. I had such a hard time with the cake - there were more then a few swear words coming out of my mouth the night I baked it! It's just such a different batter than what I am used to working with.
But here she is
I'll post the Almond Buttercups next time!

Red Velvet Girly Cupcakes
I met up with a friend on Tuesday and she was telling me all about this friend of hers that was having a birthday this weekend, when she asked me to do some cupcakes for her. This friend of hers loves Red Velvet Cupcakes, her favourite colour is Purple (my friend's is pink) and she's girly.
Sure, why not! I like a challenge!
I've never done red velvet before, but they turned out FANTASTIC! The purple icing was a little dye flavoured, but that tends to happen with purples and dark colours.
Here they are. All the decorations are gum paste and they were a lot of fun making too! For my first time doing high heel shoes, I was mighty impressed with myself!

Monarch Butterfly Cupcakes
Last weekend I got bored and decided to take out some cupcakes from the freezer and decorate them, just for us. No biggy....Which turned into a big Biggy! I was flipping through my book of cupcakes figuring I would find a simple one to do, then Mom walked into the room right when I was flipping to the Monarch Butterfly cupcakes. Needless to say that's what I did! But really, it was fun doing them and they end up looking a lot more complicated than what they really are.
First I took the butterfly outline, traced it on parchment paper and flipped it over (marker side down). Melt both orange and dark chocolate (I used Milk Chocolate) Candy Melts, separately of course. Trace the outside of the butterfly with the dark chocolate, fill with the orange and use a toothpick to carefully pull the dark chocolate into the orange chocolate.
I probably didn't explain that very well, but when you see them you will understand.
With out further explanation, here they are. Monarch Butterflies on Cupcakes.
